Lion Kuntz is supportive of bio-intensive agriculture, a brilliant conceptualist and a most productive/prolific researcher who has established essential organization for conservation via his proposed palaces for the people eco housing design. By careful study and recognition of the facts Lion has calculated the most simplest economical solution.

Lion Kuntz research and development is not with out its accuracy and is intended to upgrade living standards and conservation in both third world and western countries. Appropriately named by Lion, the ‘Palaces For The People’ are based on ancient designs which always worked as the most efficient in reducing human foot print. The thinking behind the concept of the designs of palaces for the people is to leave the land around it inhabitants limpid and vibrant.

I will outline a basic summary of the solution. At the end of the presentation, please review the Palaces For The People web page where one can absorb the finer and complete details. Palaces For The People combines Housing, Shopping, Employment, and Public space as a mixed-use in its building designs. Palaces may be solitary, filling empty blocks in existing cities, or out in the country side by themselves.

Palaces are clustered into eco-Villages, based on a cleaver design which is able to house several thousand residents. In a nutshell, Kuntz’s proposal entails buildings in the shape of stepped pyramids, which is obviously one of the most ancient structural forms. This form would allow for useable (even farmable) roof space, increasing efficiency and reducing the ‘human footprint’

The communal Palaces For The People designs are basic eco-cities which have the capacity to create environmentally conservative living conditions (in land preservation and via lower energy and water usage) and cater for up to millions at a time.

Palaces are terraced, making the land nearly all outdoor use space for patios and roof gardens. Nearly 100% of Eco villages and Eco cities will be greenbelt when seen from above. Palaces have many new technology innovations to make them the most pollution-free, energy self-sufficient, and strong buildings ever made. Palaces For The People offers FAST mortgage payoff, and FAST utilities payoff.

The idea it to compact the human footprint into six story, approximately city block sized structures (1 hectare, ~2.2 acres. The two lower levels are devoted to commercial/light industrial space, with the upper levels reserved for private dwellings.

Lion has carefully researched and calculated the way to enable each building to be totally energy independent/self sufficient and provide all utility services!, In addition to producing enough solar grade PV silicon cells to outfit one or more identical buildings/year. Each structure would house 500-700 souls, depending on the locally preferred density of unit occupancy. So, a cluster of 8 Palaces in a 3×3 grid would support 4-5 thousand souls at a level of luxury, never seen on this planet.

All in aa ~30 hectare footprint (including streets and a central hectare park). The buildings have a 100 year design life, are earth quake proof, are made flood proof or resistant, as local needs dictate. They are built form locally available materials and labor.

One can think about dead lifeless city designs which can be transformed, and other third world countries wild life and ecology preserved with clusters of Palaces scattered unobtrusively around, with nearly zero impact on the local ecology.

Structures are well within the non profit scope via grants from the public, with an estimate that the structures can be built for about $20k US/residential unit, and the commercial light industrial space comes for free.

Another description from H2-PV- Palaces For the People was a term coined by Lion Kuntz to describe a 21st century housing alternative. See this web page for a brief introduction of some chapters of an online e-book. A list of descriptive webpages is at this link.

The brief description of P4P is mixed-use building including private residential suites, semi-private public community spaces, and fully public spaces which may be used for commercial or non-commercial activity and may provide income to the homeowners living in the building.

Typically a Palace would be the size of a whole city block (1 hectare or 2.5 acres), contain about 100 or more residential suites, with building population determined by average family size.

The structure is designed to be autonomous from municipal services and utilities, having it’s own water works, power company?, and package sewer plant?. In many instances it may be disconnected from all pipes and wires of the surrounding infrastructure grids, or built where there are no external service providers.

The design is optimized to insure maximum comfort in the majority of climates that humans live in, providing indoor environments of warmth or cooling as needed without emitting pollution of any kind.

Building construction involves many new innovations in construction technology and methods, most uncertified by zoning officials at present and necessitating a delay period in the immediate present during the testing and certification processes required by building bureaucracy and mortgage lenders. This delay may take several years in the United States, or little or none in other countries with expedited processes.

Applicants wishing to use P4P technologies must be organized as a non-governmental non-profit operation with strict accounting and non-corruption rules in effect.

Neither commercial builders nor private individuals may apply at this time. NGOs may be issued re-licensing agreements where they may authorize individuals and commercial building businesses to use under licence terms proprietary P4P technologies.

Currently there are 1,636 pages under editing, with about that much more coming to form the core group of pages describing open-source engineering solutions for H2-PV world. All of this is related to, and stems from, the P4P proposal, because people need power to run a high standard of living in their Palaces.

A 10,000 square meters (hectare, 2.5 acres) building has potentially 10,000 m^2 of PV rooftops or siding if the people forgo completely sundecks and take shaded decks as a satisfactory alternative option.

At 130 watts per m^2 using cheap polycrystal PV which can be made in the building basement, this amounts to 1.3 megawatt-hours of raw DC power per sunny hour. Depending on location it could accumulate to 7.8 MW each average day in southwestern US locations, less elsewhere. About 1/4 of that is required to power an average 100 households in the building itself to normal standards. The surplus power is sufficient to run furnaces making more solar PV polycrystal at a rate of 433 kilograms per day which is enough silicon to make 436 new meters of PV waferstocks per day.

It would seem that the residents of this building could find full employment in their own solar PV manufactory. Sold at a US quarter-dollar per watt, the daily product value would be $112 for each housing unit. That might very well be more tempting than taking a sunbath on a roofdeck without PV shade rooftop over it. Apartment/condo units have been merged in this building so that resale prices are currently as high as $1,800,000.

And this building fetches prices close to $4,000,000 for combined 4-unit home. The fact is, if people had acted instead of pretending, four years ago, they would be living in luxury now, well on the way of owning property appreciating over a million dollars. These luxury units shown do not offer much that couldn’t come free in any Palace unit.

The monthly fee to the building dues in the Esplanade is over $800/month without even taking into account the mortgage on the unit itself.

In contrast P4P ground floor commercial space rentals bring in (at $1/sq.ft) $1,000/unit if the building is divided into 100 dwelling units. Now, why is this concept so damn hard to sell? Because it takes some work on the part of the pioneer group that goes first, that’s why.

The similarity of Palaces For The People ideas are to those of Austrian artist/architect Hundertwasser, with his devotion of horizontal rooftop space to nature. He also had a design for an apartment building of a ’stepped design’, but based on a spiral rather than a strict ‘ziggurat shape’.

Also parallels can be drawn to Catal Huyuk, possibly the first city, “a community at the threshold of civilization a nexus of trade and ideas for two thousand years, the first organized cosmopolitan city-state and arguably the source of the Great Mother Goddess religion — the universal faith of Europe, the Near East and the Far East before the great empires of the Fertile Crescent arose.” Catal Huyuk had no streets at all, with rooftops serving as pathways. “The houses at Chatal Huyuk were closely packed together, without intervening streets. Access to the interiors was by wooden ladder from the flat roofs.”

It is logical, necessary, and extremely important to address the issue of the complete ecological footprint of the human race. The youth of today will also have to take note of the population growth in the future, whilst taking care to work to introduce further ecological re-balancing of the conditions on this planet.

We know this is important. You also know this is extremely important. However, this type of knowledge has not - as of yet - received widespread public grant-support, and is not currently taught in all school curricula.

The following is an edited version of an article by Dr. J. R. Crewe, of the Mayo Foundation, forerunner of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, published in Certified Milk Magazine, January 1929. We are grateful to Dr. Ron Schmid, ND of Middlebury, CT for unearthing this fascinating piece. The “Milk Cure” was the subject of at least two books by other authors, written subsequently to Dr. Crewe’s work. The milk used was, in all cases, the only kind of milk available in those days—raw milk from pasture-fed cows, rich in butterfat.

The treatment is a combination of detoxifying fast and nutrient-dense feeding. Note that Crewe quotes William Osler, author of a standard medical textbook of the day.Thus, this protocol was an orthodox, accepted therapy in the early 1900s. Today the Mayo Clinic provides surgery and drug treatments, but nothing as efficacious and elegant as the Milk Cure.

A particular cure has been known for more than 15 since 2008 and was patented in 1993 by Steven Kaali and Peter Schwolsky. US patent 5188738 was filed in 1990.

Also filed for in 1990 was a patent that was a cure for herpes I & II. See US patent 5133352. Both of those patents are electrical devices. It would take very little money to pilot scale to do good.
